A full-length article answering common questions about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Mistress of the Iron Wood, this blog post will cover a brief summary and provide all the information you need to know before diving into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla!

What is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla about?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tells the story of Brynhildr, a Valkyrie warrior who has been tasked with defending Asgard from Ragnarok – the end of the world. Along her journey she meets many different characters including Sindri, the dwarven blacksmith who created Thor’s hammer Mjolnir. Together they must stop Loki and prevent Ragnarok from happening.

Find and speak to Angrboda

The first step in stopping Ragnarok from happening is finding and speaking to Angrboda, the goddess of death. She can be found near the entrance to the Iron Wood, southwest of your starting location.

Find and enter the waterfall

In the Iron Wood, you will need to locate and enter a waterfall. To do so, head west from your starting location until you find two rocks with an arrow pointing up between them. Jump on top of these rocks and follow the path north until it ends at waterfalls. Entering this area will spawn several enemies who must be killed before continuing further into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Find and gather the roots of the World Tree

Once you’ve found and entered the waterfall, make your way to the bottom where you will find a large tree. Interacting with it will begin a puzzle in which you must gather the roots of the world tree. There are six roots in total, and they can be found in the following locations:

  • North of your starting location
  • In front of Angrboda’s shrine
  • Near Sindri’s forge
  • Southwest of Odin’s throne room
  • Southeast of Valhalla entrance

Defeat Loki

After gathering all six roots, return to the tree and put them in their correct order. Doing so will summon Loki who must be defeated before continuing on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. You can find his health bar at the bottom of the screen.
